It applies to information collected through our website, booking flows, WhatsApp conversations and related service interactions.

PuneCars is a self-drive car rental service operating in and around Pune. This policy should be read together with our rental policies and Terms of Service. If a specific booking or rental agreement gives more specific information, that specific information applies to that activity.

The information we collect depends on what you do with PuneCars. Some information is required to provide a booking; other information is optional and helps us respond or improve the experience.

• Contact and account details such as your name, phone number, email address, login or OTP activity and messages you send to support.
• Booking details such as the car selected, rental dates and times, pickup or delivery location, handover preference, quoted price, deposit, booking reference and trip status.
• Driver and KYC information required for eligibility and handover, including identity and driving-licence details, verification status and documents submitted through the verification flow or support channel.
• Payment information such as transaction identifiers, payment status, refunds and gateway responses. Payment credentials are handled by the relevant payment provider; PuneCars does not need your full card or UPI secret to confirm a booking.
• Device and usage information such as IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, approximate location inferred from a selected place, error reports and security logs.
• Location information that you choose to enter or share for pickup, delivery, map suggestions or trip support. We do not need continuous background location to provide a rental.

We use information for clear, connected purposes rather than collecting it for its own sake.

• Create and manage accounts, quotes and bookings; check availability; calculate charges; and coordinate self-pickup or doorstep handover.
• Verify driver eligibility, complete KYC, prevent impersonation and reduce fraud, misuse, unsafe rentals and payment abuse.
• Send operational messages such as OTPs, booking confirmations, payment updates, handover instructions, return reminders and support replies.
• Process payments, deposits, refunds, invoices and reconciliation, including investigating failed, disputed or duplicated transactions.
• Maintain vehicle, booking, support and audit records; respond to complaints; enforce our policies; and comply with lawful requests.
• Understand reliability and performance of the website, fix errors, improve the booking journey and protect our systems.

We share information only when it is needed for a stated service, safety, legal or operational purpose. We do not sell or rent personal information to advertisers.

• Service providers that host our application and data, send messages, provide customer support tools, or help us monitor and secure the service.
• Payment providers, including the gateway used for a transaction, so that payment, refund and dispute actions can be completed.
• Identity and KYC providers, when you start a verification flow or when verification is required for a booking.
• Messaging, map and location providers when you use WhatsApp support, OTP communication, address suggestions or map-related features.
• Vehicle owners, delivery or handover partners, insurers, professional advisers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or courts where disclosure is necessary, authorised or legally required.
• A successor or transaction party if PuneCars is reorganised, sold or merged, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal safeguards.

We use access controls, authentication, encrypted connections and role-based operational access appropriate to the information we handle. Sensitive verification and booking information is limited to people and providers who need it for the service.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, complete accounting and payment reconciliation, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, meet tax, legal or regulatory requirements, and protect our rights. When it is no longer needed, we delete, anonymise or securely isolate it where reasonably practical.

No online service can promise absolute security. If you believe your account or information has been used without permission, contact PuneCars promptly so we can investigate and protect the booking.

You can ask us to access, correct or update personal information associated with your account. You can also ask about deletion, withdraw optional communications, or raise a concern about how information has been used.

Some information cannot be deleted immediately when it is needed for an active booking, a refund or dispute, fraud prevention, legal compliance, safety records or a contractual record. We will explain the reason when that limitation applies.

PuneCars may use essential cookies or browser storage to keep sessions secure, remember trip context and make the website work. We may also use privacy-conscious analytics or technical logs to understand reliability and performance.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies can prevent login, booking or payment steps from working correctly. We do not use cookies to create a cross-site advertising profile for you.

PuneCars is not intended for children. Rental bookings require an eligible driver who meets the minimum age and licence requirements described in our rental policies. If you believe a child has shared information with us, contact support so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

We may update this policy when the service, law, providers or data practices change. The updated date at the top of this page shows when the latest version was published. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate. Continuing to use PuneCars after an update means the updated policy applies to future activity; information already collected remains subject to the policy that applied when it was collected unless the law requires otherwise.
